Barcelona Ready to Listen to Offers for Star as Man Utd Prepare £77m Bid

Barcelona Ready to Listen to Offers for Samuel Umtiti as Man Utd Prepare £77m Bid

Barcelona are prepared to listen to offers for defender Samuel Umtiti, who has been targeted by Manchester United in recent months.

The Frenchman has missed the majority of this season as a result of a knee injury, with Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet shining in his absence. The Blaugrana also remain linked with a move for a new centre-back, leading to rumours of an imminent exit from the Camp Nou.

United have been considering lodging a bid for Umtiti, and Goal claim that the Catalan giants would be prepared to enter negotiations with any interested parties if they receive a bid of at least £60m.

Barcelona could demand as much as £77m for the World Cup winner, as they look to raise funds to finance some expensive transfers this summer.

After agreeing a £65m deal to sign Ajax wonderkid Frenkie de Jong, Barcelona are said to be pursuing his teammate, centre-back Matthijs de Ligt, who could command a similar fee.

They see Umtiti as the best source of income, with both Thomas Vermaelen and Jeison Murillo are both set to leave the club for free when their contracts expire at the end of the season. Club officials are unwilling to part ways with either Pique or Lenglet, whilst young Jean-Clair Todibo is set to be given more time to impress.

As a result, Umtiti is the only centre-back who could command a sizeable fee, with United thought to be incredibly keen on signing the 25-year-old as they look to strengthen their defensive line.

Three Major European Clubs In Race To Sign The Barca Star

Inter, Bayern and Manchester United set for a transfer war over Barcelona star Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic

Ivan Rakitic is the transfer target for some big European clubs this summer as the rumors of the Croatian leaving the Catalans getting hotter.

the 30-year old has been the key player for the Catalans since he entered the camp nou as a Barca player in 2014, but the signing of Dutch star Frankie de Jong may put his spot in starting 11 in doubt.

Rakitic turns 31 in March and that may not be beneficial to Bayern Munich, who are looking to replace their ageing core players.

Manchester United’s interest may depend on who they appoint as their next manager as well as on how their pursuit of Bruno Fernandes goes after they reportedly made contact with the Sporting captain.

With the imminent departure of Adrien Rabiot at PSG, they may be the team most in need of Rakitic's talents. The Parisians have previously attempted to lure Rakitic from Barcelona preparing an offer of €90m last summer.

Revealed: Neymar Replied To Reporters When Asked About Barca Return.

Neymar's Unimpressed Response to Reporters Asking About Barcelona Return

It seems as if Neymar has no time for speculation about his future while on the road to recovery from injury, as video footage has emerged of the Brazilian telling a reporter not to 'break his balls'.

The 26-year-old was in the city of his former club for treatment to a metatarsal injury that will see him miss around ten weeks of action, but reporters in Spain took the opportunity to speculate about a potential return to Barça, with one asking if that is why he was there.

His response to the enquiry was understandably less than accommodating as he limped by on crutches, answering "me toca los cojo" - roughly translating to "don't break my balls."

While it's highly unlikely to quell any future speculation about a return to the Barça, who he left for PSG two years ago, but it certainly seems as if it's far from the most pressing issue on his mind as he recovers from his latest injury setback.

Since recovering from a similar injury that kept him out from February through to May, very nearly jeopardising his World Cup in the process, he has scored 20 goals in 23 appearances, and his career was very much back on track, so you can understand his frustrations at another significant absence.

Although Ligue 1 is all but wrapped up for the French champions, the injury means he will sit out both legs of PSG's Champions League last-16 tie with Manchester United, serving as a huge boost to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side's chances of progression.

Barcelona Reportedly Willing to Re-sign Neymar on Two Conditions

Barcelona are reportedly ready to bring Neymar back to the Nou Camp but only if two conditions are met, claims a report in Goal.

The Brazilian, who moved to Paris Saint-Germain from the Camp Nou in 2017 for a world-record fee of 199 million pounds has been repeatedly linked with a move back to Spain.

It was widely understood that Neymar left the Catalan giants in order to escape Lionel Messi's shadow and make a push towards his aim of winning the Ballon d'Or.

However despite some impressive displays for the French club, it is claimed that the striker is not happy with life in Paris and wants to make a move.

Barcelona for their part, will accept his return only on two conditions as per the report. The first is that the 26-year-old himself forces the move as the club management believe that they lost face during his transfer saga.

The second one condition being suggested is that the player would have to accept a lesser contract than the one he is currently on at PSG.

The Spanish giants know they cannot compete with PSG financially as they do not have the funds to to splurge for the Brazilian so any deal would see him getting paid lesser than his current salary.

There has been no official word from either the clubs or the player himself on a potential move and while such a transfer looks unlikely, it will be interesting to see how this situation pans out in the future.
